Muslim minority
Από Greece Wiki
The precise population of the Muslim minority in Thrace is not known due to the lack of an official census since the 1950s. It is however estimated between 100.000-130.000 inhabitants, with the total population of Thrace rising to up to 340.000 people. The Muslim minority in Thrace was exempt from the mandatory population exchange between Greece and Turkey agreed with the Treaty of Lausanne (1923). The population of the Muslim minority in Thrace consists of roughly 45% Turkish-speaking inhabitants, 36% Pomaks (Slav-speaking) and 18% Roma.
The Muslim minority has the same rights to health care as any other Greek citizen. However some members of the Muslim minority who have lost in previous years their citizenship face problems of access. Moreover accessibility due to the social exclusion faced by segments of the minority is an issue that has not be studied extensively.
