What is the purpose of this site?

This site has been set up to gather information about the health of migrants and ethnic minorities in the United Kingdom. It forms part of the project MIGHEALTHNET, currently being carried out in 16 countries and co-funded by DG SANCO, the Health and Consumer Protection Directorate-General of the European Commission.

The site is intended as a resource for all researchers, professionals, policy makers and users concerned with the health of migrants and (ethnic) minorities. We invite you to add your contributions to it and to pass on the address of this site to others who may be interested.

There is also a wiki for general issues that are not specific to one particular country: general wiki. The wikis that have been created for other countries can be reached here.

How can I add material to the site?

Click on the above heading to find out!

What can be put on the site?

You can contribute articles, references (if possible with abstracts), bibliographies, links, names of organisations and journals, as well as any other information you feel is useful. There is also a page for discussions and a contact list for people and organisations interested in this subject (see topic 6).

What will the information be used for?

Information from the site will be used to make a ‘state of the art’ report during 2008. This report will be posted on the site and will be disseminated nationally.

If you would like your contribution to be acknowledged, please include your name and e-mail address when adding material to the site. If you have any comments or suggestions, please e-mail them to the wiki manager (see contact).

Searching the site

There are two ways of searching for material on a particular topic. One is to go to the page which most closely corresponds to the topic in question. However, not everything fits neatly into one category, so you can also search the whole site using the box on the left. If you wish to search for a topic in all the wikis, use the global search box underneath this box.

Community portal

See link in navigation box (on the left). This is a forum for general discussion. Please feel free to add to it!

Current events

See link in navigation box (on the left). On this page announcements can be placed concerning meetings, conferences, publications etc.
